The Performing Arts minor enables students to explore modes of creative expression through Acting, Dance, and Musical studies while enhancing personal development. The courses emphasize diverse perspectives in artistic expression and develop a student’s ability to experience and communicate through a range of creative process. The courses focus on building integrity, community engagement, and global citizenship, while also cultivating critical thinking, empathy, creativity and intercultural understanding. The skills being developed strengthen a student’s confidence in their ability to communicate and grow an awareness of a range of communication styles in others. Students with a background in performance often find employment in film, advertising, theater and theatrical production, music and musical production, and voiceovers. Students must take 5 courses or 18 credits to complete the minor. A GPA of 2.0 in Performing Arts minor courses is required to earn the minor.
