AS 3250 - Scriptwriting for TelevisionCredits: 4 Students study the world of television writing through thorough analyzing popular shows and learning the formula and format for writing a spec (sample) script for a current television show. Students are taught the language of scripts and scriptwriting, how to come up with an original idea, how to develop a good story, how to write good characters, how to write an outline and develop and write scenes for their script. The course is focused on half-hour comedies and dramedies featured on the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), cable television (HBO, SHOWTIME STARZ) and streaming networks (NETFLIX, HULU, APPLE TV+).
