Program Learning Outcomes. 1) Achieving proficiency in the understanding and usage of Spanish language through listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing the language at the Basic II or Intermediate level 2) Achieving cultural competency; ability to to perform basic artistic and historic analysis; ability to write critical analyses using well-reasoned arguments.
Evaluation of Learning. This Micro-Credential requires attending the Summer Study Abroad Program in Santiago de Compstela, Spain.
Curriculum: Students are required to register for the Summer Study Abroad program in Spain and participate in extra language classes offered by the University of Santiago de Compostela, cultural activities, and excursions. They are also required to take 8 credits by completing two courses. The language course can be taken either at SUNY Old Westbury before of after the Study Abroad program, or can be taken in Spain during the Study Abroad program. The course on Spanish Art and Culture can only be taken during the Summer Study Abroad program.

- ML1110 Basic Spanish II or ML 2100 Intermediate Spanish I
- ML 3300 Artistic Expressions of Spain (only offered through the Study Abroad program)
