VA 2400 - Introduction to Photography

Beginning course for art-majors and non-art majors in photography. Emphasis is on photography as a system of visual and cultural representation. The history of photography and technical data are interspersed with shooting assignments and critique. Students supply their own materials and should own a medium-quality digital camera.
