AS 3745 - Film and GenderCredits: 4 This course examines the social, historical, and technological construction of film as a medium as well as the social and technological construction of gender. By looking at contemporary American films, students will reflect upon and critique the various representations of gender conformity and fluidity. The intent of the class is to both expand an understanding of gender and to identify the ways in which film reinforces binary notions of gender and gender roles.
