CS 7800 - Internship

Description Students are required to complete a one semester internship. In consultation with a faculty mentor, students will apply for and secure a suitable internship. The internship will afford the students with an opportunity to handle real data in a corporate environment. And they will encounter meaningful problems being addressed in the workplace. The students will work as team members collaborating with data science practitioners. The students will grow personally and professionally as they face real world problems and ethical choices. A faculty member will serve as the mentor. The internship may include site visits by the faculty mentor. The student will be responsible for regular progress reports and a final report.

Prerequisites: CS 6110 and MA 6520.
