AS 6430 - Advanced Editing Credits: 3
Description In this advanced course, students will edit the footage they shot in AS 6420 Advanced Cinematography to learn advanced editing techniques and create two polished video projects: a cinematography reel (TRT 90 180 seconds) and a short documentary (TRT 10-15 minutes). Specific editing techniques such as checkerboarding, compressing action and montage will be taught. Lessons, readings, screenings and rough-cut critiques will support the development of a story arc through editing structure. Adobe Premiere skills will focus on titles, effects, still image animation, sound mixing, color correction and exporting. Special emphasis will be placed on employing industry standard workflows and creating high production value media. Classes will consist of hands-on workshops as well as online coursework and critiques of student work.
