ED 5930 - Observation, Practicum and Seminar

This course provides opportunities for students to practice and reflect upon the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become effective teachers. The course includes 85 hours of participation. observation during which teacher candidates conduct a series of directed observation tasks and actively work with students and their cooperating teachers. Teacher candidates will have the opportunity to instruct individual students, small groups, or the whole class as often as they and the cooperating teachers feel is appropriate. There would be one video of the candidate teaching a demonstration lesson to complete the course. The observation will be recorded and uploaded onto the Bright Space platform. The teacher candidates would complete a self-evaluation of the recorded lesson. The culminating project for the course will be an essay reflection paper that includes teaching, assessment, and reteaching based on assessment results. Students are requiredto participate in weekly seminar sessions with the course instructor.

Prerequisites
 ED 3900, ED 3700, and ED 4200. Co-requisite: ED 4121, 4122, 4220.
