Description This course focuses on literary masterpieces from Spain and Latin America, with emphasis on works written from mid-19th century to the end of the 20th century. Topics include: Modernism and Modernity in the poetic expression of Spain and Latin America; major literary movements and representative authors; “Voices of the Masters”: Works by (from Spain): Miguel de Unamuno, Antonio Machado, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Federico García Lorca, Vicente Aleixandre; (from Latin America) José Martí, Rubén Darío, César Vallejo, Pablo Neruda, Jorge Luis Borges, Juan Rulfo, Octavio Paz, Gabriel García Márquez.
