BU 7562 - Business Valuation for Forensic Accountants Credits: 3
Description This course explores the basics of business valuation: how businesses are valued, how to evaluate the credentials of self-styled valuation “experts”, and the quality of the report they produce. Students will learn the three methods of valuation, their strengths and weaknesses, and when to apply each. The course explores how professionals use valuation principles. Most importantly, students will engage in interactive exercises to learn how to procure valuation reports which are more likely to survive audit by the IRS or FTB. Guest speakers may present, or students may report on various projects that they have been conducting either independently or in groups.
