MH 6530 - Principles and Techniques of Counseling Credits: 3
Description The focus of this course is on the practical application of specific counseling and psychotherapy techniques across the four phases of engagement, pattern search, change and termination. There is an emphasis on helping the student trainee to develop clinical thinking and treatment planning from an organized theoretical orientation and integrating multiple treatment techniques from all treatment models. The short-term solution focused and goal attainment approaches are also covered.
Prerequisites: MH 6100 , MH 6110 ; or by permission
