Students will interpret and analyze textbooks, scholarly articles and books, newspapers and primary documents to understand both the structure of a text and the nature of “point of view.” Throughout the course, the interpretation and analysis of social studies materials will be applied to 7-12 classrooms with an aim toward facilitating equity and civic responsibility. Special emphasis will be given to multicultural and ethical issues as they apply to developing curriculum for equity and social justice.
