CS 6020 - Introduction to Databases Credits: 3
Description This course covers the fundamentals of database design and database applications programming: introduction to database systems; Data modeling, extended E/R diagrams, relational and object-oriented models; Relational schema design, integrity constraints, functional dependencies and normal forms, SQL-query processing, concurrency control and transactions processing. The students will build a database application in groups using MySQL DBMS.
Prerequisites: Can be taken concurrent with CS 6010 .
