BU 7131 - United States Healthcare Systems Credits: 3
Description This course introduces the health care system in the United States and an examination of U.S. healthcare policy through an economics lens. Topics include how the U.S. healthcare system is financed and its impact on access to health care services, theories on how health care resources should be distributed, issues of healthcare provider and institutions reimbursement, cost containment, provider shortages, and the organization of health care delivery. The course will also examine healthcare systems of other countries and how the governments of these countries address these policy issues.
